THE DAY
MY SOUL CRIES
MY HEART TRIES TO RATIONALIZE,
WHY?
MY SOUL SEES A REALITY
THAT MY MIND DENIES
MY HEART SCREAMS EARTH SHATTERINGLY LOUD
MY EARS REFUSE TO HEAR
MY EYE SHEDS A TEAR
MY LUNGS STRIVE TO INHALE
HAVING FORGOTTEN TO EXHALE
WHILE THE WIND OF LIFE SMASHES MY FACE
TO THE BACK OF MY SKULL
MY MUSCLES CONTRACT
MY KNEES YIELD
AS THE FAITHFUL GROUND
CATCHES MY BODY
LIKE THE MOTHER SHE IS
DID I …?
BUT WHY …?
MY DOG DIED
