TRANQUILITY
Volume: D Pg3
Her eyes are the stars of heaven,
Brought down to earth to be for me
A light unto my path and a lamp unto my feet.
Her voice doth soothe that savage beast
That transforms my inner peach to turmoil.”
In a dream-
Your lips I dare to kiss
But not before your image faded
In an aromatic mist.
As I sail upon this quiescent sea
I bathe in your shallow depths,
Avoiding the tranquil deep:
Knowing well that we are passing to appointments
We both must keep.
And on I must ride upon the winds and the waves of time;
No matter what errors in judgement
Nor what rapids I’m befallen,
I shall never forget those flickering moments
As I passed through you—
My sparkling sea of tranquility.
In our brief but lingering passing,
Let us glory in our union,
Not of physical form
But of spiritual bond;
Lamenting not –
Love never realized,
Never mourned.
I shall never forget that glimpse,
That intimate though infinite gaze;
When the Goddess of Light
Allowed her last lingering rays to shine
Upon your enchanted face;
And my mind said to my heart
As it received your grace . . .
“Look at her,
A smile that smites the voids of darkness
That plague my soul so still;
A touch so real –
Though we never meet,
My loneliness she steals.
Her eyes are the stars of heaven
Brought down to earth to be for me,
A light unto my path and a lamp unto my feet.
Her voice doth soothe that savage beast that transforms
My inner peace to turmoil.”
