I DO
My body is a temple for the Lord’s in-dwelling
And an instrument of his revealing.
How dare I challenge His plan but, I do.
Having any amount of perceived power Does not authorize me to use it as I will
Yet, I do.
Like a child lacking knowledge, wisdom and understanding
I swing at, I stab at, until my own blood I spill in awe!
With that negligible modicum of power I choose to not listen, because the messenger is too quiet or loud,
Too young or old, white, black, brown, green or yellow;
Too rich or poor, male or female, masculine or a-feminine.
I choose, You choose, We choose to know but deny.
I dare say, that we are powerful enough to choose to fear enlightenment
And hold fast to ignorance.
My body is a temple for the Lord’s in-dwelling;
And an instrument of his revealing.
How dare I challenge His plan but;
I DO.
